What is HBOT?

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) is a medical treatment that enhances the body’s natural healing processes. The combination of increased atmospheric pressure and increased percentage of oxygen in a total body chamber treats a wide variety of medical conditions.

What are the Benefits

Healing cannot take place without appropriate oxygen levels in the tissue and cells. Many illnesses and injuries fail to heal because of inadequate oxygen levels. Increased oxygen under pressure (HBOT) provides this extra oxygen to tissue and cells with minimal side effects.

How It Works

HBOT allows more oxygen into the body under pressure, oxygen dissolves into all of the body’s fluids, including the plasma, the lymphatic fluids, and the cerebrospinal fluids surrounding the brain and spinal cord. These fluids can carry the extra oxygen to areas where circulation is poor or blocked, either by trickling past the blockages or by seeping into the affected area.

Treatments

These are some of the more common uses for HBOT that are not covered by insurance. However, some insurances will reimburse for HBOT so make sure to ask your insurance agent to see if they can help you. We also accept Workman's Comp.

These are some of the most common uses for HBOT, as well as some of the most studied indications for HBOT. Most insurances will cover for these indications and a couple others.
